Spanish developer Patrones & Escondites, creators of Unmemory, have released a teaser trailer for their new upcoming title, the quirky text-based puzzler Delete After Reading.
The game follows the adventures of a group of unlikely protagonists, a ghost, a goblin, and a sentient rabbit, in their mission to save the sole copy of ‘The Curse of Penguin Island’, a very influential and valuable video game. To do so they must sneak unnoticed into the mansion of one of the world’s richest men. To make things more complicated, destiny itself is stalking the mansion, attempting to ensure events play out exactly as it decrees.
Delete After Reading’s gameplay harks to mechanics from escape rooms, it is driven by text, requiring players to read very carefully to solve puzzles and escape the sticky situations the five chapters of the game throw them into. Being smart and being careful is necessary when the adversary controls fate itself.
A demo is set to be available via Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest, running between the 13th and 20th of June.
The full game will be available for PC on Steam, and for Android and iOS devices, with the release date set for the 15th of September this year.
