The Adventures of Elliot: How to Play Co-Op

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a Zelda-esque experience set in a gorgeous HD-2D world filled with dangerous enemies and challenging exploration. Throughout most of the journey, you’ll be accompanied by a companion whom you can control using the right joystick. However, if you’ve got a partner, friend, or youngster who wants to join in on the fun, they can control Faie in a co-op mode.

If that sounds like something you’d like to get rolling with, though, you’ll both need to exercise some patience. Let’s talk about that below, where we’ll tell you how (and when) you can play co-op in The Adventures of Elliot.

How to play co-op in The Adventures of Elliot

To play co-op in The Adventures of Elliot, you’ll first need to progress the main story for about 3-4 hours, so be prepared for some minor early-game spoilers here.

Eventually, you’ll enter the Age of Reconstruction, which serves as an entirely different time period than the one you began exploring at the beginning of the game. Upon making a little more progress, you’ll encounter a fairy named Faie, who will become your companion for the remainder of the game.

Once you’ve unlocked Faie, you’ll now be able to have a second player control her. To do so, pause the game and look at the bottom left of the screen for a Faie icon. Click it.

After clicking on the Faie icon, you’ll be on a page that shows all of her magical abilities. In the lower right corner, you’ll spot an option to press LB to begin a co-op session.

Using this option will allow you to bring in a second player to control Faie, who will now be able to serve as an invincible companion to Elliot. This allows them to do a variety of things that can aid Elliot during his exploration, including using magic for things like lighting torches, collecting items, or even damaging enemies. So, just remember that with great power comes great responsibility!

The Adventures of Elliot is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
