The Annual Yogscast Jingle Jam Is Here!

It’s time to open your wallets for charity as the Yogscast Jingle Jam 2022 is here! So, for anyone not in the know, The Yogscast is a gaming-focused British youtube channel and corporation - much like Rooster Teeth in the US. Since their start in the early days of Youtube, they have grown and more popular British Youtubers have joined the company.

Back in 2011, Lewis and Simon, the creators of the Yogscast asked fans to donate to Oxfam instead of sending them Christmas presents. As the largest YouTube gaming channel in the world at the time, the response was tremendous, raising over $100,000! And since then, it’s only grown bigger and bigger. Every year the Yogscast streams all day long, every day, for all of December to raise money for charity. Last year they raised 4.4 million dollars for various charities. This year, in only 3 days as of writing they have raised 1.8 million dollars already!

For all you gamers out there, there is more to get out of the Jingle Jam than just honorable giving. Every year, in order to encourage more people to donate, Yogscast works with game developers and other companies to put together an amazing bundle of games and goodies for anyone who donates a certain amount. This year anyone who donates $35 or more will receive an enormous bundle of 85 different games and more. Some big names of games in the bundle this year include Troy A Total War Saga, First Class Trouble, Plate Up, and Age of Wonders Planetfall. One of the extras this year is a 40% discount code for Displate for any fans out there looking for good Christmas gift ideas.

The Yogscast works with a wide variety of charities, and you can decide out of a large group which one you want your donation to go to. The Yogscast works the most closely with the charity Special Effect, a small but amazing charity that helps disabled children enjoy the fun of video games, that they may not normally be able to play with conventional controls. There’s a disabled fan of the Yogscast who plays games like Minecraft and The Sims with her eyes thanks to the charity and makes occasional guest appearances in the Jingle Jam to show what amazing things the charity can do for people. Other charities that are available to donate to range from the Red Cross to the Huntington's Disease Association, to Whale and Dolphin Conservation, and more.

So for anyone in the mood for some fun, quirky, and most importantly British gaming streams this December, make sure to check out the Jingle Jam on Twitch. And most importantly, as it is the giving season, why not donate to an awesome charity while you can also get some amazing games out of it?
