Mark Millar’s The Secret Service: Kingsman graphic novel series, which he creates with Dave Gibbons and Matthew Vaughn has already seen two movie adaptations, but another film is on the way that will trace the history of the spy organization to its origins. The first film was a commercial success that performed well with critics and paved the way for a sequel. Not the case for the second film. Kingsman: The Golden Circle suffered as many sequels do from a lack of substance and a dependence on the winning formula of its predecessor.
But that isn’t stopping The King’s Man. The upcoming adventure will observe the beginnings of the independent intelligence agency as it thwarts international threats and endeavors to save lives. A star-studded cast will feature in the film. From everything that we’ve seen in the trailers so far, The King’s Man will preserve the charm and knack for slick action that made the first adaptation so likable. Matthew Vaughn is in the director’s chair, maintaining creative control over the series as he has from its cinematic inception.
The release date for the film is set for February 14th, 2020. War and espionage. Perfect for a Valentine’s Day evening.
