Earlier this year we learned that Team17 is bringing their turn-based Worms series to a new era with their new title Worms Rumble. Now it is officially set to launch in December for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam, but interested players can get in on the action earlier with the crossplay open beta! Regardless if you play on PlayStation or PC, the game will be able to match players from both platforms against each other when the beta opens on November 6th.
This time, the worms will fight in fast-paced, relentless skirmishes for up to 32 players per match across a variety of modes including Deathmatch and Squads. So, instead of just picking from your arsenal supply, you must find crates across the maps that contain weapons like the Bazooka, Assault Rifle, and Holy Hand Grenade, with Jet Packs and Grapple Guns providing extra movement options. And, of course, no Worms game would be complete without cosmetics and personalization, ranging from outfits and hats to skins for your worm and weapons they wield.
This open beta is definitely a good way to see how returning players feel about the change in gameplay style as this is not going to be the typical Worms-style game. Will you be checking out the beta this November?
