As crazy as it sounds, school teachers are reporting parents to police if they hear their students talk about seeing or playing Mature rated games. GoPlay is reporting the UK Nantwich EducationPartnership issued the following letter justifying their actions. The following is an excerpt...
"Several children have reported playing or watching adults play games which are inappropriate for their age … Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Dogs of War [did they mean God of War?] and other similar games are all inappropriate for children and they should not have access to them. If your child is allowed to have inappropriate access to any game or associated product that is designated 18-plus, we are advised to contact the police and children’s social care as it is neglectful."
Sure there are games meant for adults, we all know that. Is it really societies place to step in and police parents on what they let their children play?! Seems like a fine line to walk when you can bring your child to a rated R film provided they're with you.
