Focus Entertainment’s upcoming real-time tactical game Aliens: Dark Descent releases on June 20, and they have released a new trailer showcasing some of the story elements that will come into play. A new chapter in the Aliens universe is opening up, featuring never-before-seen threats beyond the Xenomorph menace. As a ship of USMC marines crash lands on the frontier planet of Lethe, the crew will find a terrifying new foe waiting on and under the surface.
Aliens: Dark Descent is a real-time tactics game with a single squad focus, allowing players to outfit their squads for the dangers they will face as well as make quick decisions in the middle of combat. While exploring maps that stay the same between deployments, the squad will search for supplies and accomplish missions to discover the truth behind the mysteries of Lethe and the Xenomorphs on it. Each soldier has their own fears to deal with, and repeated exposure to the horrors on Lethe will cause them trauma that will affect gameplay and squad cohesion.
While we don’t have details on what the story will feature, we do know that it will take players deep into a web of conspiracy, coverup, greed, and lost lives.
