Once you make it to the Under the Bridge lantern in Valor Mortis, you’ll soon come across a note on the ground that initiates The Deserter side quest. This quest will have you searching different beehives around the area to find figurine parts. It’s not easy to decipher which beehive to pick, so we’ll help you finish The Deserter side quest in Valor Mortis.
The Deserter side quest guide in Valor Mortis
From where you picked up the quest, continue along the same forest path until you come across a fork in the road with two enemies. Keep to the right, then walk up the hill until you reach a ledge with a grapple point. Grapple to the other side, and you’ll have to face off against a mini-boss.
Take down this enemy with ease by parrying enough times to stagger him and deal a powerful riposte attack. Once defeated, he’ll drop a Beekeeper’s Hut key, so use it to unlock the hut beside you. Read the deserter’s diary on the table, then feel free to take the Perfectionism Amber from the chest.
Now, head outside and read the beekeeper’s note in the grass beside the nearest beehive. This will start the next part of the quest, which has you finding the figurine parts in the right beehives.
To find the first figurine part, interact with the beehive furthest from the hut. That’ll give you the first Anubis Figurine Part, but you’ll now need to find two more in different areas.
The second beehive area will be further down the main path you were previously on. Before the large encampment, you should see some dead horses on the ground.
To the right of the animal corpse is the second set of hives. Only interact with the beehive on the very right to get the second Anubis Figurine Part.
Finally, the last batch of hives is past the encampment once you make it back to the top of the bridge, which allows you to make a shortcut down to the Under the Bridge lantern. Exit through where you have to use your Stasis Transmutation powers on the gate, then walk through the small hut to your right.
You’ll find the last set of hives through that door. Pick the beehive that’s hidden off to the left side, closer to the hut. That’ll give you the final Anubis Figurine Part, which will also complete the quest.
