There are a lot of different platforms available these days that are all distributing a large variety of games. While the more popular PC-based storefronts are Steam and Epic Games, there is a new platform that is focused on being the home of indie games. Welcome to VoxPop Games!
In order to be a proper new home for this select group of developer studios, they focus on providing a fair trade for both developers and players. As a user of this platform, you can expect to find a list of games that don’t go above the price value of $24.99 USD. While this may rise in the future, as more games are added to the library, it shows that even gamers with smaller wallets will be able to get a collection of games for a valued price. It won’t be a sale event that provides an affordable value either, so there is no pressure on when to buy.
Another aspect for the userbase is that it isn’t just a bunch of niche titles that barely anybody has heard of. Some of these indies are games that are working with well-known publishers. Take the image above for instance; the horror game Horror Story: Hallowseed is published by 1C Entertainment, known for over 100 games on Steam alone.
If you look at everything the store page has to offer, it is everything you need to know and would get from the usual Steam store page too. You can wishlist the game, the price is shown, you can download a demo, check the ratings, and you can even see how much of a share Voxpop themselves will take from this game’s profits. If you aren’t aware, 20% is less than what Steam and Epic Games take for their cuts on their storefronts.
All-in-all, it can’t hurt to check out a new digital storefront and see if VoxPop might be a good fit for you. I’ve mentioned before that we should branch out to have more options to get games from than just Steam before. Well, here’s your chance to check out a solid, new platform with an already growing library of titles.
