During DC’s FanDome, Rocksteady Studios finally gave us a taste of what to expect in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in a brand new reveal trailer! The trailer centers around the 4 playable members of the Suicide Squad and the targets of their new assignment.
Suicide Squad takes place in the already-established universe that WB Games and Rocksteady had created with the Batman Arkham series. This entry to the universe takes place in Super-Man’s city of Metropolis. You’ll get to play as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang as you follow the orders of Amanda Waller. Who are the targets? You guessed it—the Justice League.
The game is open-world and it was heavily stressed that the game would have shooter elements. You’ll be able to swap between the characters on the fly during your playthrough, upgrading and honing your skills with each member of the team. The game also has the option to play the game as a four-person squad from start to finish or go solo.
The premise does sound extremely promising. If the shooter aspects of the game take center-stage in combat, this has a better chance to define itself as something unique. WB Games announced earlier in the event their game, Gotham Knights. It’ll be interesting to see the differences between these two games as they release.
There is no set release date as of yet, but the game is slated for 2022. It will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
