Warner Bros. Games and Monolith Productions stole the show at The Game Awards tonight when they unveiled their next superhero game in the works, Wonder Woman. Known for their work on the Middle-Earth: Shadow games, Monolith have announced that WW will be a third-person, open-world action-adventure game wherein players will be able to play as The Amazon Princess herself.
This single-player title will introduce players to a brand-new story set within the DC Universe where Diana of Themyscira fights to unite her Amazon people with humans of our modern world. Bringing back the crowd-favorite Nemesis System, Monolith allows players to form a deeper connection with both enemies and allies through the progress they’ll make throughout the game.
“At Monolith Productions, we believe in the power of player-driven storytelling to unite people. The stories our players share inspire us every day, and we are honored to take players on a unique personal journey, driven by the values embodied in Wonder Woman,” said David Hewitt, Vice President, Studio Head, Monolith Productions. “The Nemesis System raised the bar for player-driven storytelling and we’re excited to push the open-world genre forward, combining cutting-edge action with inventive narratives to create a Wonder Woman game everyone will want to play.”
There is currently no release date window announced for the game nor is there a set line-up of planned platforms that it is set to release on either.
