In a since-deleted tweet, Antony Johnston (one of the writers for Dead Space) announced that he has been working on a videogame for the last two years, and plans to reveal the title during the PS5 showcase later today.
When questioned about the game, Johnston provided some vague answers. In response to one of the replies, he stated that people will “play a character having a really bad time”, and thought it was “weird how everyone automatically assumes it’ll be a horror game”. Johnston has also done work for games like Shadow of Mordor and Binary Domain; so obviously his writing isn’t strictly limited to horror.
I for one would like to see a game similar to Dead Space as it is one of my favorite sci-fi/horror titles to date, but wouldn’t mind seeing something else. Either way, I’m excited about the reveal and can’t wait to see what Johnston has been working on.
