Sega announced in an art exhibit event for Yakuza 6 a few days ago that Yakuza Kiwami 2, will be launched in the West on August 28, 2018. The game was already released in Japan last year, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will serve as the remaster of the 2006 title, Yakuza 2.
Yakuza Kiwami 2, just like the remake of its predecessor, will introduce an entirely enhanced graphics and environments. The game will star Goro Majima as a playable character, alongside with the main protagonist of the game, Kazuma Kiryu.
It was also revealed during the Yakuza 6 event that the remake would undergo an "extreme localization" for western players. Also, the developer revealed that: "we've gone through the Yakuza Kiwami 2 script with a fine-toothed comb' every effort has been made to ensure that it's the most faithful representation of the original Japanese."

"Pull off a wide variety of brutal (and hilarious) Heat Actions, and challenge new minigames such as Golf Bingo, the original release of Virtual On, the return of Yakuza o's much-celebrated Cabaret (including the return of the fan-favorite Yuki!), Majima's revamped Clan Creator, and even Sega's infamous toylets."
Yakuza 6, the latest installment in the game franchise will also launch this year in April, although the game has been out in Japan since December of last year. Yakuza Kiwami 2 will launch for the PlayStation 4 this August. Check out some of the screenshots of the game below.
