Batgirl Purple and Gold Version Sixth Scale Figure: Overview and Impressions

While we may all be clamoring for a new title in the Batman’s Arkham franchise (besides the admittedly cool VR entry), the Batgirl Purple and Gold Version Sixth Scale Figure from Hot Toys may just have to tide us over. This limited edition figure is based on the superhero’s likeness from Batman: Arkham Knight and sports a rad purple and gold color scheme. I had a chance to spend some time checking it out, and it’s pretty damn cool. Let’s talk about it.

Below is everything that comes with the Batgirl Purple and Gold Version Sixth Scale Figure, and my impressions of this $225 DC collectible.

Impressions

Before you can pose Batgirl, you’ll need to take a look at everything in the box and assemble the basics.

Hot Toys figures tend to be well-packaged, and this Batgirl figure is no exception. Everything is protected with adequate plastic and protective film, ensuring the figure is in tip-top shape before configuration.

The first thing I noticed after taking Batgirl out of the package is that her gold and purple suit is vibrant and stands out exceptionally well. This is certainly a figure that will stand out in any Hot Toys collection.

Unsurprisingly, superb attention to detail is on display here, down to the inclusion of realistic hair, which is tightly bunched to ensure it holds up well over an extended period. That being said, I’d recommend not trying to pull it apart or change the hair, as it’s held together for a reason.

It’s worth noting, however, that the Batgirl Purple and Gold Version Sixth Scale Figure lacks background additions and doesn’t have quite as many customization pieces as, say, the Miles Morales 2020 Suit or The Mandalorian and The Child figures I’ve tested. But it’s important to remember that it also comes in at a much lower price than those offerings and is designed solely to highlight Batgirl herself rather than an iconic environment.

Honestly, I appreciate seeing a figure that focuses on its subject over background flair. Even so, you’ll still find interchangeable faces, hands, and extra gadgets that give you plenty of choices for customizing the position of this highly posable figure. I typically keep my figures fairly static, but I love having the option to get more creative.

If I had a complaint, it’d be that the wire-embedded cape is a bit unwieldy. Getting it in a position I liked was kind of challenging, and I don’t really care for the cheap-feeling, crinkly material. Now that I have it positioned how I want it, though, it looks great.

The included stand rounds out the vibe by sporting Batgirl’s logo in the same purple and gold aesthetic. It’s all gorgeous and (mostly) a cinch to set up, making it easy to recommend for any DC fan seeking something visually arresting for their collection.

Conclusion

The Batgirl Purple and Gold Version Sixth Scale Figure isn’t the most customizable or feature-packed Hot Toys figure I’ve checked out, but given the price point, it’s definitely one of the most compelling. Whether you’re a big Batgirl fan or simply want a punchy, vibrant figure to display in your collection, this one shouldn’t be missed.
