Best Soulslike Games To Play After Mortal Shell 2

There are no games quite like the ones crafted by the beloved FromSoftware, but they can get pretty close. Mortal Shell 2 is a sequel to an action Soulslike set in a dark fantasy world. Once you get a taste of that, it’s hard not to crave more. With that in mind, we’ve put together a short list of the best Soulslike games to play after you’ve beaten (or even before you’ve started playing) Mortal Shell 2.

Lies of P

One of the more creative Soulslike titles released in the last few years is Lies of P, a fantasy action game that spins the story of Pinocchio into something darker. As you explore the city of Krat, playing as Geppetto’s puppet, you’ll meet a variety of monsters and discover dark secrets hidden beneath the lies.

Like Mortal Shell 2, you’ll fight a myriad of enemies and bosses with unique attack patterns and deep lore. There’s also a unique twist where you have the choice to lie or tell the truth to those seeking comfort. It’s the perfect time to jump in now, with the Overture DLC available and the Complete Edition for Switch 2 just on the horizon.

Another Crab’s Treasure

Don’t be fooled by the vibrant and lively world of Another Crab’s Treasure, as this charming game is a Soulslike just as challenging as any other. Another Crab’s Treasure puts you in the claws of a meek crab who has lost his shell and must defeat a slew of enemies in search of it.

You’ll meet numerous cartoony friends and foes throughout the many areas of this sea world while unlocking new shells that can give you unique abilities and attacks. If you love the idea of collecting shells in Mortal Shell 2, this is the perfect game to try out.

Blasphemous 2

Blasphemous 2 has a beautiful pixelated art style that makes meeting its mysterious NPCs and terrifying monsters all the more enticing. This Metroidvania Soulslike continues the story of The Penitent One, but now you’ve awoken in a new land and must fight numerous monsters once again.

It’s a non-linear Gothic world that requires you to backtrack and discover hidden secrets. Customize your build using an array of weapons and skills at your disposal. Blasphemous 2 is just as grim and unyielding as Mortal Shell 2, and you’re sure to enjoy it just as much.

No Rest for the Wicked

No Rest for the Wicked is an incredibly underrated Soulslike by the creators of the Ori games, Moon Studios. Play either on your own or with up to three other players in this challenging action RPG with Soulslike combat.

Set in a gorgeous but brutal world, you must master your weapon and take on numerous punishing enemies. Alongside its combat, you can harvest resources and craft items to help you build a life in the city of Sacrament. This is not a game you want to miss, especially now with its multiplayer update out.

Death’s Door

Set in a colorful world of talking animals, play as a Crow whose job is to reap the souls of the dead. In Death’s Door, your assigned soul is stolen, and you must now track down the thief while exploring a world without death.

This Soulslike’s combat isn’t as adorable as its art style, as it’s still as brutal as Mortal Shell 2 can be. Use an array of weapons and magic to tackle ferocious beasts while meeting a colorful cast of characters along the way.
