How Much Does Borderlands 4 Cost?

The standard edition of Borderlands 4 will cost $70. Upgraded versions will scale up from there, but we'll cover that more below.

Concerns had previously mounted that the game would cost more, especially following a controversial X post from Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford

In response to a fan sharing fears that the game would cost $80, Pitchford stated, "If you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way to make it happen. My local game store had Starflight for Sega Genesis for $80 in 1991 when I was just out of high school working minimum wage at an ice cream parlor in Pismo Beach and I found a way to make it happen."

It looks like all the fuss was for nothing, as the game avoided reaching $80 after all.

What Are The Differences Between Borderlands 4 Editions?

There are three Borderlands 4 editions to choose from. As for which one is for you, let's take a look at what each one offers.

  • Standard Edition ($70) - This edition just comes with the base game.

  • Deluxe Edition ($100) - This edition comes with the base game, Fire Hawk's Fury weapon skin, and the Bounty Pack. The Bounty Pack includes four post-launch DLCs that will consist of 4 areas with additional bosses, 4 Vault Cards with unique challenges and rewards, 4 new vehicles and vehicle cosmetics, and a variety of new gear, weapons, and cosmetics.

  • Super Deluxe Edition ($129.99) - This edition comes with the base game and everything from the Deluxe Edition, as well as the Ornate Order Pack and Vault Hunter Pack. The Ornate Order Pack comes with 4 extra Vault Hunter skins, 4 extra Vault Hunter heads, and 4 extra Vault Hunter bodies. The Vault Hunter Pack includes two post-launch DLCs that will consist of 2 new playable Vault Hunters, 2 new story packs, 2 new maps, and additional gear, weapons, and cosmetics.

Regardless of which version you pick, pre-ordering the game nets you the Gilded Glory Pack pre-order bonus, which comes with one Vault Hunter skin, one drone skin, and one weapon skin.

Does Borderlands 4 Have Co-Op?

Borderlands 4 has both 4-player online co-op and 2-player split screen co-op. In other words, whether you're on the mic chatting with your friends or sharing a couch and snacks, you're all set for journeying together in this looter shooter adventure.

Additionally, Borderlands 4 supports full crossplay across all platforms with a SHiFT account, ensuring no one's left out of the fun if their friends play within a different ecosystem. Luckily, SHiFT accounts have other benefits, too, like acting as a hub for special code redemptions that can earn you in-game rewards, so it's worth having either way.

Good luck out there, Vault Hunter.
