Games Workshop has once again licensed their Warhammer franchise to Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive to bring Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to store shelves. The trailer dropped at this year’s Summer Game Fest and showcased incredible visuals that blow the previous game out of the water.
Lieutenant Titus is making his return as the game’s protagonist. For those who haven’t played the previous game, it ended in a way that wasn’t in Titus’s favor. This leaves many questions and intrigue about what the future holds for the narrative. Titus will again have to armor up and take on hordes of Tyrranids either solo with artificial intelligence (AI) or with friends in three-player co-op.
The combat still sticks to the bombastic and chunky gunplay of the previous game but with improved textures and crisp audio. The game is looking to be another smash hit with the visuals and audio alone much like Warhammer 40k: Space Marine which was a sleeper hit on release back in 2011.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is coming winter of 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are currently available for the standard and collector’s editions. Those who get the Collector’s Edition will also get a statue of Lieutenant Titus fighting a Tyranid, a 64-page hardcover book, a Steelbook, and the game on the platform of your choice with the Macragge’s Chosen DLC!
