What’s new in Halo: Campaign Evolved’s gameplay and content?
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. Therefore, it is a first-person shooter sandbox game with many additions.
Campaign-wise, Campaign Evolved also introduces Operation: METEORITE. This is a three-mission story arc that takes place a year before the events of Combat Evolved, introducing new enemy variants, locations, and weapons.
The game has been rebuilt from the ground up through Unreal Engine 5, modernizing several aspects while remaining faithful to the original. The world, however, has also been expanded, as Halo: Campaign Evolved can be played in 2-player split-screen co-op (console exclusive) or 4-player online co-op (crossplay and cross-progression supported).
Other gameplay additions include nine additional weapons, the ability to hijack vehicles, including the Covenant Wraith, and optional sprinting.
What is the plot and setting of Halo: Campaign Evolved?
Halo: Campaign Evolved’s plot and setting remain the same: Master Chief and Cortana arrive at Halo, a ring-shaped world that has become the main objective of the Covenant, an alien alliance that seeks to use Halo for mysterious, evil purposes.
Operation: METEORITE, as said above, takes place one year before the events of Combat Evolved. Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson will infiltrate a Covenant research vessel as part of a clandestine United Nations Space Command operation.
