We are less than a month away from the next chapter in the Dying Light series as the team over at Techland has worked hard to release Dying Light 2: Stay Human. This second title will be released on PC via Steam and Epic Games, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 4th! With the release date so close, it is time to make sure we are caught up to date with everything we can expect. The final episode of the Dying 2 Know series they have been releasing to show off updates on the game’s development does a good job reeling in the game, but even after watching that video, let’s go into some details.
If you haven’t been following the announcements as they were made, here’s a summary to help you catch up on everything you need to know. For one, you need to meet the secondary main character, Lawan; a woman played by actress Rosario Dawson and a character in which her path will be made up by your choices. Your decisions won’t only affect Lawan, of course, as you will also be making decisions that affect environments, people, and ultimately, you’ll decide the fate of the city! The last set of choices you need to have in mind is your own and by that, I mean your skill tree. As you highlight different choices in the skill tree, a short video showing what the skill will allow you to do. Check out the full tree display below:
When it comes to the gameplay itself, you will find some familiarity from the first title, but at the same time it will be improved, built up, and there will be a wider variety of monsters. While we have shared the cinematic trailer and basic gameplay trailer here on GameTyrant, the video that best shows off the different zombie and enemy types can be found below. In it, you will see the intensity of being indoors, a bit of the outdoor activity, and it even reveals why they are using the tagline “Stay Human” - let alone the fact that they repeat it as something to never be forgotten.
Dying Light 2 is available for pre-order on all platforms that it is going to be available on. Honestly, if you are a fan of zombie games, or especially if you are a fan of the first game, then this is a must-have title! Given that there is still over 100 thousand users still playing the first game weekly and this title has been 6 years in the making, there is a lot of potential that the developers are truly delivering a proper continuation for the series. If the only thing holding you back from pre-ordering is whether or not your PC can handle it, check out the full requirements here!
