Hollow Knight: Silksong may be a melee-focused adventure, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a few tricks up your sleeve. With the Straight Pin tool, you can throw daggers at your foes for a bit of ranged offense. But before you can equip and use this tool, you’ll need to find it somewhere in Hollow Knight: Silksong’s maze-like world. Here’s where to find the Straight Pin tool.
Where to find the Straight Pin tool in Hollow Knight: Silksong
You can find the Straight Pin tool soon after defeating the game’s second boss, Bell Beast. Continue to the right for a while until you can make your way down a fairly lengthy vertical room.
As you make your way through this room, you’ll come across a large door you can enter.
Inside, you’ll find a bench you can rest on. While the room may feel otherwise empty, there’s actually a platform right above the door you came through, so take it up to find a few locked cell doors.
The two locked doors can be destroyed with a few good whacks, but the left one just leads to an enemy you can slay to claim some rosaries. The one you really want to pass through is on the right.
After speaking to the NPC here, go up one level to find the Straight Pin tool on a surface here surrounded by daggers (or, well, pins).
With this in your inventory, you can now head back to any bench and equip it to get throwable daggers. Luckily, these regenerate when you rest at a bench, so if you start to run low, you just need to take a seat. Resting is good for the soul, too, you know.
