How To Beat Lace in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Lace is one of the many notorious bosses you face off against in the first few hours of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Just like Hornet, Lace is a trained swordswoman who has a few tricks up her sleeve.

Beating Lace is just like beating any other boss in Silksong — keep losing until you learn enough of their move set to beat them. Still, if you’re struggling to get past this foe, here are some tips on how to defeat Lace in Silksong.

How to defeat the Lace boss in Silksong

Lace doesn’t have a super specific and clear moveset as the ant skull boss does, but she does have a few moves that you have to watch out for. This boss will often leap into the air and then strike down, always at the same diagonal angle. You can anticipate where she’ll land and avoid that area so you don’t get hurt.

I found that jumping and hitting downward on her head often worked, as Lace likes to block attacks with her sword. If you see her take a step back and angle her sword horizontally, she’s about to dash forward. So either jump backward or over her.

At this point, you’ve unlocked the ability to sprint and dodge. This becomes very helpful during this fight, as Lace is extremely quick. Still, she’s easy to dodge if you use that ability.

After a few hits, Lace will become dizzy and will be vulnerable for a few seconds. Take that time to lay some hits on her before she gets back into the fight.

When her health is low, Lace will perform a devastating move that can dish out a ton of damage. You’ll anticipate it when you see a spark and a glowing circle. Sprint out of that circle’s range, and you’ll be safe from it.

That’s all you really need to know about beating Lace! Once you finally do take this boss down, make sure at this point you’ve finished the Berry Picking Wish and found the three Mossberries for the Druid.
