We all run into the experience where we become overencumbered due to our hoarding every single item in our inventory, making the thought of spring cleaning such an arduous task. While this may have happened one too many times, getting rid of items that we don't need or that don't benefit our build and playstyle is quite painless to accomplish in Minecraft Dungeons 2.
Salvaging items lets players better manage their inventory by letting go of unwanted or unused items that are collecting dust within their inventory; however, with so many items to get rid of, it's extremely challenging to decide what can be kept and what can be destroyed or salvaged. So, eliminate the stress of spring cleaning the inventory by learning how to salvage old and unused armor, weapons, and artifact items one at a time or in bulk to free up some space to collect more equipment items in-game.
How to salvage old and unused armor and weapons in Minecraft Dungeons 2
Much of your playthrough will be spent advancing the main story questline, tackling dangerous enemies and bosses, and clearing dungeons and rifts where you’ll pick up plenty of loot, Echo Shards, and Emeralds. While Echo Shards and Emeralds have their purposes, naturally, the armor, weapons, and artifacts can be equipped to your Hero to fit the build and playstyle you’re going for.
But oftentimes, this means neglecting other equipment items in the inventory, which over time can start to get a little crowded. Luckily, getting rid of them is quite straightforward and can be done within your inventory. Go through the melee or ranged weapons, various armor pieces, and artifacts to determine the pieces that won't be needed.
Hover over the item and select the "More Actions" option, where you’ll have the choice to either equip the item, favorite it, or salvage it. There’s an option to select multiple items to salvage, but we advise going through every item in the inventory to know which items can be kept and which can be destroyed.
Once the selections have been made, you can proceed with salvaging the items, which will allow you to recover a fractional amount of Emeralds that may come in handy much later in the game. Salvaging these items permanently removes them from the inventory, meaning you’ll have recovered some space to track down more valuable armor pieces and weapons to better refine your builds and prepare for the endgame.
The process of salvaging items is only applicable to armor, weapons, and artifacts, although we would advise destroying older or unused armor and weapons, using artifacts as a last resort.
An important thing to mention is that any older or unused armor and weapons that have been enchanted can get the Enchantment Points refunded by having the items disenchanted at the Enchantsmith before salvaging them. Otherwise, they won't recover the Enchantment Points once the item is destroyed.
