In case you missed it in the chaos of the leadup to Halloween, Nintendo’s Bayonetta 3 officially released on October 28th, just in time for Halloween and fans of monsters, witches, and leather. Despite the minor controversy surrounding the game in the news at the moment in regards to the alleged pay dispute between the original voice actress and Nintendo, so far the game has received rave reviews.
Players familiar with the series will recognize some old faces as well as new ones. The Umbra Witch will fight from the streets of Tokyo to the mountains of China to defeat the never-ending horde of enemies with her demonic powers. In addition to the classic action gameplay of melee attacks and gunfire, players will also have something entirely new to pay attention to in this sequel.
This time, players will also be able to take control of a whole new character named Viola. A witch-in-training, Viola will travel through the Multiverse with her sword to complete her mission. Viola will be joined by a capricious feline demon companion named Cheshire, who can be summoned during combat.
In regards to combat, players will be able to freely alternate between Casual, Standard, and Expert difficulty modes at any time. A training mode is also available, allowing players to practice their skills and attacks outside of the story mode.
