ICYMI: Three Very Different Games Worth Your Attention Right Now

Officially, there are a bajillion games already out or coming soon. As gamers, we’ve rarely eaten so good and we are just getting started. Sometimes it’s difficult to keep up with the onslaught of releases on all platforms, so ICYMI, here are three very different games that deserve your attention and gaming dollar.

Petit Planet

If you've been craving that Animal Crossing itch but want something fresh, Petit Planet might just be your next obsession. From the moment we got our hands on this preview, it was clear we were playing something special and it’s easily one of the most polished and downright charming previews we've experienced in a long time. In a market absolutely flooded with cozy games trying to ride the genre's momentum, Petit Planet stands out because it doesn't just settle for being cute. There's a level of care and intentionality here that you can feel in every interaction, every animation, and every little detail tucked into its world. This isn't just cozy for cozy's sake, it truly feels like a game built by people who genuinely understand what makes this genre click.

No release date has been announced just yet, but this cozy gem is headed to both mobile and PC, which means you'll be able to take it with you wherever you go or settle in for longer sessions at your desk. Whether you're a longtime Animal Crossing devotee, a casual fan of the cozy genre, or someone who's been burned by too many half-baked life sims that promise the world and deliver a tutorial, Petit Planet is shaping up to be the real deal.

The dual-platform approach also suggests the developers are thinking carefully about accessibility and meeting players where they are. Keep this one on your radar, because when it drops, we have a feeling it's going to make some serious noise.

Cozy hype = 10/10!

Call of the Elder Gods

The team behind Call of the Sea is back with their latest effort, and they've knocked it out of the park. Call of the Elder Gods wraps Lovecraftian atmosphere around clever puzzles, a stunning art style, and a soundtrack that absolutely soars, all without losing an ounce of charm along the way. What makes this one special in a crowded indie landscape is how confidently it blends its influences.

Lovecraftian games are everywhere these days, but most of them lean hard into horror and dread. Call of the Elder Gods finds a different angle entirely, channeling that cosmic weirdness through warmth and curiosity rather than just terror, and the result is something that feels genuinely unique on the shelf.

It's a rare thing when a follow-up manages to feel both familiar and completely its own, but that's exactly what this game pulls off. The developers clearly learned a lot from their debut, and rather than playing it safe, they've swung for the fences with bolder puzzle design, richer world-building, and a visual identity that's even more striking than before. In a market where so many games blur together and sequels often feel like retreads, Call of the Elder Gods is proof that a studio willing to grow and take creative risks can deliver something truly memorable. If you appreciate gorgeous visuals, inventive puzzles, and a world dripping with eldritch personality, do yourself a favor and don't let this one slip past you.

Easily an 8.5/10!

‘83 - Early Access

We've been diving into '83 on Steam, and if you're the kind of FPS fan who's been longing for the days when tactical shooters demanded real thought and precision, this one's calling your name. It's hardcore in the best possible way, delivering the kind of complexity and attention to detail that most modern shooters have long since abandoned in favor of flashy unlocks and battle passes. In an era where the shooter genre often feels like it's tripping over itself to simplify everything and chase the broadest possible audience, '83 plants its flag firmly in the opposite direction. It trusts you to learn its systems, rewards patience and teamwork, and doesn't hold your hand and honestly, it's refreshing.

Yes, it's still in Early Access, and some rough edges remain. But even in its current state, '83 is an absolutely killer experience that scratches an itch few games even try to reach anymore. There's a reason the old school tactical shooter community has been underserved for so long , these games are hard to make well, and most studios don't bother trying. The fact that '83 is already this compelling while still being actively developed speaks volumes about where it's headed. Matchmaking my be a bit tough depending on the time of day but it’s not much of an issue with the included server browser (#OLDSKOOL)

If you've ever found yourself reminiscing about the glory days of methodical, high-stakes FPS gameplay and wondering why nobody makes them like that anymore, somebody finally is. Old school FPS lovers, get in on this one early, you will not regret it!

Blasting an easy 8/10!
