Onimusha: Way of the Sword is mostly a combat-focused game, but every once in a while it’ll throw a puzzle or two your way. One of the first that might leave you a little confused is the Mask Door in Dokyo’s Dungeon.
How to Open the Mask Door in Dokyo’s Dungeon
If you follow the halls you’re guided through, you’ll eventually come to a room with a mask that matches the empty spot on the door. However, the mask is locked inside a box, and you’ll need to solve a puzzle to open it.
The puzzle itself is fairly simple. You’ll need to shoot the masks above the box with your Oni Bow in the correct order, and doing so will release the mask you need for the door.
How to Solve the Mask Puzzle in Dokoo’s Dungeon
Shooting the masks is easy. They’re not exactly hard to hit, and there’s no timer rushing you into making a mistake. Figuring out the correct order, however, can be a little confusing at first.
If you’re looking at the masks above the box, turn around. You’ll find the exact same masks on the opposite wall with spotlights shining on them. Those spotlights are the key to solving the puzzle.
Head outside the doorway and look at the shadows being cast by each mask. Each shadow will have a certain number of holes of light shining through it. Count those holes, and that will tell you the order you need to shoot the masks.
In simple terms, the mask with one hole of light gets shot first, the mask with two holes gets shot second, and so on until you’ve hit all of them in the correct order.
Then you’re done! Great job, now you can grab the mask, open the door, and get back to saving Okuni’s friend!
