Quite possibly one of the most memed gaming things of the last day or so was the unveiling of the “Mouthful Mode” for the upcoming Kirby and the Forgotten Land at Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct. The trailer, while harmless enough, explains how one of the new features debuting in the game is Kirby’s ability to be able to learn new powers from some of the inanimate objects he can consume.
Sucking up a car will allow him to drive around as such, a vending machine will let him shoot soda cans, and a scissor-lift will give him the vertical edge he needs to reach new heights. These moves are separate from copy abilities and there are quite a few items to find throughout the game. It’s insanely genius really.
The trailer also shows off the fact that you can actually upgrade or evolve his copy abilities via Waddle Dee’s weapon shop in-game. They will change his look and improve his strength overall. It’s pretty insane to see just how much is going into the combat this time around for good old Kirby.
This is definitely one of my most anticipated games for the first half of 2022 and I cannot wait to finally get my hands on it. It just really looks like a fun platforming adventure to set out on and I am here for it.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land releases on Nintendo Switch this March 25th.
