One of the six Corrupted Gate bosses in Mortal Shell 2 is Droeg, the Conqueror, a frost troll who uses a large bone as a weapon. Although you have the help of a summon, they don’t stick around forever, and Droeg is a nasty opponent to have. We’ve compiled some tips for beating Droeg, the Conqueror, in Mortal Shell 2 so you can move on to other bosses like Sir Isaac and The Nameless Captive.
Droeg, the Conqueror boss guide in Mortal Shell 2
The key to beating Droeg, the Conqueror, in Mortal Shell 2 is to focus on ranged attacks and learn his attack patterns to know which way to dodge. Droeg has a huge swing distance with his club, so you need to either parry or learn to dodge the correct way to avoid taking damage.
When Droeg places his weapon on his shoulders and points the thick part of the club down, prepare for two wide swings. Dodge backwards to avoid this one. Droeg will also throw his arms back, preparing to strike vertically in front of him three times. Dodge sideways this time.
Eventually, you will stagger Droeg and be able to deal a nice chunk of damage to him. Once he’s at around half health, he’ll hold his head and fall to his knees, summoning flaming rocks above him. Either continuously dodge or run sideways to avoid these homing missiles.
Droeg will start making more spins before hitting you with his club, too, so wait until he pauses to dodge, as it’s an indicator that he’s actually about to swing. He’ll also change up his wide swing attack, where he’ll still swing wide twice but then swing his club downward once. Dodge backward to avoid the first two, then dodge sideways.
With all this in mind, you should be able to bring Droeg, the Conqueror, down eventually. You’ll be given Conqueror’s Reward after defeating him. This Tarstone only works with the Black Needle weapon, and it allows you to consume 100 Resolve to drive your weapon forward in a series of piercing thrusts.
Mortal Shell 2 is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
