One of the three bosses you have to beat before the final boss in Mortal Shell 2 is Orrem. He starts as the Discarded Golem, but in the second phase turns into the Reclaimed. While Sariel is available to summon, you’ll have to tackle Orrem alone for the majority of this fight. That being said, we’ll help you beat Orrem in Mortal Shell 2.
Orrem, the Discarded Golem boss guide in Mortal Shell 2
In Orrem’s first phase, he wields two flaming axes that can inflict Burn on you if you’re hit. Using the Burnt Effigy can be helpful during the fight with Orrem in Mortal Shell 2 since it can help with Burn mitigation. Have Sariel take aggro off of you at the start of the fight so you can prep your weapons if you typically coat them using a Tarstone.
Orrem’s attacks are brutal, and they’re difficult to dodge if you’re moving backwards. When he’s banging his weapons on the ground and moving forward, always dodge to the side. If you’re using Tiel, use the Shadow Dodge ability to your advantage so you can perform Shadow Strikes.
At around half health, you’ll likely get the chance to make a Riposte attack to deal a ton of damage. You’ll likely find Orrem’s first phase a lot easier than his second, so try to save all your heals until the second phase.
Orrem, the Reclaimed boss guide in Mortal Shell 2
During Orrem’s second phase, he will grow a centipede-like spine that moves on its own. Orrem will make an obvious unparryable attack where he rushes you, but dodge it to avoid it right before he lands. He’ll also slam his arms onto the ground, but you can also easily dodge this.
The centipede will try shooting blood bullets at you, which you can anticipate when you see the centipede’s mouth glow red. Get Orrem to half health again and he’ll likely be staggered, especially if you’re using certain Tarstone ranged attacks that keep you a safe distance from him while dealing significant damage.
By half health, Orrem will run to one side of the arena and wait for you to attack. Before rushing him, wait for the centipede to attempt to pincer you. If you get too close, he’ll push himself away. Either fight from afar or wait for Orrem to leap at you so you get a chance to get some hits in.
Once you finally defeat Orrem, you’ll receive Orrem’s Head, which can be sold at the merchant at Marrow’s Keep. You can now continue on to the next two bosses, or if you’ve completed those already, take on the final boss of the game!
Mortal Shell 2 is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
