After entering the northernmost Corrupted Gate and surviving the entirety of the Sanguine Caverns in Mortal Shell 2, you’ll be met with The Lost Child boss. This humungous creature may seem easier than the Magdalena boss at first, but one wrong move and he will tear away at your health. If you’re struggling against this boss, you’re not the only one. Here are some tips on beating The Lost Child boss in Mortal Shell 2.
The Lost Child boss guide in Mortal Shell 2
You can survive The Lost Child boss fight in Mortal Shell 2 by maintaining good mobility and dodging at the right times. There is no real secret method to beating The Lost Child. Rather, you just have to slowly chip away at its health while avoiding enough of its attacks not to get seriously damaged.
I recommend using the Tiel Shell, as he can dodge at the last second to turn invisible and perform a shadow strike. You’ll want this boost of damage from shadow strikes when dodging his belly flop attacks. The only other up-close attack he does is with a swing of his arm, but otherwise, everything else is at a distance.
If you’re not playing as Tiel, try Proxima, as her Shell’s ability can close the distance when The Lost Child leaps far away and uses a ranged attack. He will either shoot dung at you or use a powerful mouth suction and blow attack. Both of these times, you just want to run away from the attack because you can outrun it.
Run diagonally so you’re also getting closer to him, and as soon as you’re behind him or he’s done his attack, get some hits on him. You can also wait to eventually stagger him and deal a Riposte attack. Even though the stagger bar doesn’t fill throughout the fight, after a while your hits will eventually stun him, giving you the chance for a Riposte.
With enough patience and damage, you will eventually defeat The Lost Child. As a reward, you’ll receive the Lost Clotstone. This Tarstone only works with two weapon types, but it allows you to consume 60 Resolve to spin in place and release your weapon with brutal force.
