A new update is in store for the survival game Volcanoids. Having been in early access since 2019, it has already seen 24 updates so far, and the latest promises to be a big one, according to the eponymous Prague-based development team of the same name.
Included in the update will be the addition of tanks, which will come in a wide variety to accommodate numerous purposes, as well as having many ways to disable or destroy them so that they don’t become too overpowered. There will also be new drones of various types that will be guarding certain areas, as well as a drone paying homage to the popular April Fool’s airship, although the developers have said that it won’t be on the same scale.
A new machine gun, automatic pistol, and bolt action rifle will also all be arriving with the update. These will not be replacing any current weapons, although the team says that the current weapons will be tweaked to improve balancing issues.
Volcanoids is available now on Steam in early access, with the new update set to release at the end of September. There is also a Discord server you can join to keep abreast of all the latest developments.
