A new addition to the OXENFREE II: Lost Signals 'Tapes' series is out on the Night School Studio YouTube channel, shedding some more light on what to expect in the upcoming game.
In the video 'The Complexity of Choice in OXENFREE II: Lost Signals', Sean Krankel, director of Night School Studio, and Adam Hines, the lead writer, discuss interactions within their games and the impact it has on the story, as well as the importance of letting the player embody the character in dialogue. This talk comes with some footage of the upcoming game.
Published by Netflix, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is the sequel to the 2016 title Oxenfree, a spooky adventure game set on an abandoned military outpost of Edwards Island. Lost Signals follows the story of Riley Poverly, who returns to her childhood hometown of Camena, to investigate the strange electromagnetic phenomena that cause electrical items to constantly glitch, and navigation systems to fail. Not coincidentally, Camena sits very close to the enigmatic Edwards Island.
The choices that the player makes, and how they have Riley behaves toward others will have a big impact on how the story plays out. OXENFREE II: Lost Signals is set to release on July 12th, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC via Steam.
