New YU-GI-OH! Structure Decks and Booster Packs for 2018

New Yu-Gi-Oh! decks and packs come out regularly, so what do we have to look forward to this year? Well, we got two new Structure Decks and some Booster Packs for starters. We’ve got quite a lineup of things coming during the first half of this year so let’s get right to it.

Structure Deck: Wave of Light

The first new item of the year was the Wave of Light Structure Deck. This deck introduces a new Parshath: Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath. This guy has a whopping 2800 ATK, deals piercing damage, allows you to easily get Parshaths and Counter Trap cards from your deck, and you can easily Special Summon him by banishing some Fairy monsters from your hand, field, and/or graveyard. This is big for a Fairy Counter Trap deck. Combine that with the new card, The Sanctum of Parshath. If you want to get into the Fairy Counter Trap style, Wave of Light seems to be a great intro.

In addition to the 41 Card deck, you receive 1 Synthetic Seraphim Token, 1 Beginner’s Guide, and a double-sided playmat. You can check out the full card list here. Wave of Light is available now.

Booster Pack: Extreme Force

The next entry for 2018 (and the first booster pack) is Extreme Force. This pack will have 100 new cards to create new strategies or support some old ones. Extreme Force provides more Link Monsters for those of us late to the Link Summoning game. One of the new archetypes is the Mekk-Knights who use card columns to determine if they can be Special Summoned and use their powerful effects. Mythical Beast Cerberus gets some new friends like Mystical Beast Garuda.

Extreme Force is available now. You can find a full card list here.

Booster Pack: Legendary Duelists: Ancient Millennium

I really like the Legendary Duelists packs because it takes me back to when the game began. My opinion is that the time before Synchro and XYZ monsters was a golden age and these packs take me back to that time. We don’t have a full card list for this set yet, but we know it will have 53 cards. We also know that it will feature cards used by Maximillion Pegasus, Weevil Underwood, and Bandit Keith. I’m excited to see what cards are available.

Legendary Duelists: Ancient Millennium will be available February 23, 2018.

Collector’s Set: Legendary Collection Kaiba

This collection will feature all things Seto Kaiba. We know that there will be 4 different artworks for the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon. We also know that we’ll get loads of traps to go with Kaiba’s style. The most exciting thing though is that there will be 5 new cards for this set. We don’t know all the details, but we know that they’re inspired by some iconic cards including Lord of D., The Flute of Summoning Dragon, and Ring of Destruction. I can’t wait to see what these new cards can do!

The set contains 105 cards with 10 cards per pack and 3 packs per box. Legendary Collection Kaiba will be available March 9, 2018.

Special Edition Box: Extreme Force Special Edition

The Special Edition of Extreme Force will include 3 Extreme Force packs as well as, “1 of 2 Super Rare variants of sought after tournament level cards as well as 1 of 2 Super Rare preview cards from the Spring 2018 booster set!”

Extreme Force Special Edition will be available March 23, 2018.

Structure Deck: Lair of Darkness

Lair of Darkness is the antithesis of Wave of Light. Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair will allow you to tribute a DARK monster to “interfere with your opponent’s hand!” The brand-new Grinning Grave Virus appears to be a new Virus card to somehow create chaos for your opponent’s hand and deck. I can’t wait to find out more about this deck of darkness.

Lair of Darkness will have 41 cards and be available April 20, 2018.

Booster Pack: Flames of Destruction

Flames of Destruction will feature more Link Monsters and will offer support for a wide variety of archetypes including Vampires, Monarchs, Trap Hole, and for the first time, the Elemental Lord archetype will be getting some support. The new Elemental Lord, Forceaurage, will wield the power of Raigeki to destroy all of your opponent’s monsters. He’s a little hard to summon though as he requires exactly 5 LIGHT monsters to be in your graveyard.

Flames of Destruction will be available May 4, 2018 and will have 100 cards in the whole set.
