Ocarina of Time: All Empty Bottle Locations

Telling an Ocarina of Time newcomer that Bottles are among the most useful items in the game might solicit laughter as a response. As soon as they face the world of Hyrule, however, they will soon find that the Bottles being useful is quite an understatement. Here is where to find all Bottles in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake.

Where to find all Bottles in Ocarina of Time

In total, there are five Bottles in Ocarina of Time Remake, one more than in the original game. Out of the five, only one of them is required for progression, as it is a quest item. The rest are entirely optional, but you will benefit greatly from having multiple Bottles at your disposal.

Bottle #1

The very first Bottle is located in Hyrule Castle Town. Enter the Potion Shop right next to the passage leading to the Temple of Time and talk to the vendor.

He will hand you over a Bottle to catch an insect. Do so, and you will get to keep the bottle, with an added Red Potion on top.

Bottle #2

The second Bottle in the game requires you to wake up Talon while you sneak into Hyrule Castle. Once you meet Zelda and Impa escorts you to Hyrule Field, head to Lon Lon Ranch and enter the building on the left.

Talon, again, is asleep. Talk to him to wake him up, and he will challenge you to a Super Cucco-finding minigame. He will scatter three Super Cuccos among the regular Cuccos for you to pick up in less than 30 seconds.

Identify the Super Cuccos by their slightly different stance and walking pattern. Alternatively, throw all the Cuccos to one side of the room before talking to Talon to better identify them.

Once you pick up all three Super Cuccos, Talon will reward you with a Bottle filled to the brim with Lon Lon Milk.

Bottle #3

Travel to Kakariko Village and talk to the Cucco Lady, who is definitely not called Anju. Her seven Cuccos have exited their pen, and it is up to you to find them. We have a comprehensive guide on each of their locations, but here’s a list regardless:

  • Front entrance of Kakariko Village

  • On top of a pile of bricks in front of Impa’s house

  • Construction site across Cucco pen

  • Inside box next to a house and in front of the square

  • Up the hill, on the way to the Death Mountain gate

  • Outside the Potion House (closed). Use another Cucco to glide from the windmill’s entrance and over the fence

  • Hilltop behind the windmill (use the ladder)

Once you bring them back to the Cucco Lady, she will reward you with an empty Bottle.

Bottle #4

This Bottle is the only one that is unmissable. Follow the story until you reach Zora’s Domain. Right next to the Zora King, at the top of the domain’s waterfall, talk to a Zora to start the Diving Lesson.

Dive to reach five scales scattered across Zora’s Domain’s waters. Once you do, the Zora will give you the Silver Scale, allowing you to dive deeper.

Right across the waterfall, you will find an underwater tunnel. Dive into it, and you will surface in Lake Hylia.

Notice a shiny object sunk in the ruins. Dive and grab it to collect the Bottle, which contains Princess Ruto’s letter. Deliver it to King Zora, use the Bottle to collect a fish, and venture into Jabu-Jabu’s Belly.

Bottle #5

The fifth and final Bottle is the only one obtainable as Adult Link. The Poe Collector in the Ghost Shop in Hyrule Castle Town is the one in possession of the Bottle. To get it, you will need to sell him five Big Poes, all found across Hyrule Field.

To do so, you will need Epona and the Fairy Bow found in the Forest Temple.

Once you have your steed and your bow, ride across Hyrule Field to find purple glowing structures you can leap over with Epona. As soon as you do, a Big Poe will spawn.

Hit Big Poes twice with the Fairy Bow to defeat them. Then, grab empty Bottles to stash them inside.

Sell five Big Poes to the Poe Collector, and he will give you the fifth and final Bottle in Ocarina of Time Remake.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
