Enabling the use of magic in the land of Hyrule opens up interesting combat choices and the use of secret-unveiling items. You will find, however, that your Magic Meter can soon feel insufficient, and it drains rather quickly. Thankfully, there’s a way to increase your magic power. How to get the Gift of Doubled Magic in Ocarina of Time
Increasing your Magic Meter comes in the form of the Gift of Doubled Magic. It is one of the five gifts that all Great Fairies across Hyrule are willing to hand over to you, for a fee, of course.
In the case of the Gift of Doubled Magic, you will have to wait until you become Adult Link. Not only that, but you will also need an important item: the Megaton Hammer, which is found inside the Fire Temple.
Progress through the temple and obtain it after defeating the first Flare Dancer. Once you do, you can choose to finish the temple and defeat Volvagia or step outside for a bit and go for the Gift of Doubled Magic.
Conveniently enough, the Great Fairy who grants this particular gift is located in Death Mountain Crater. Walk toward the southwest corner of the map as shown above, and you will come across metal rocks. These can only be smashed with the Megaton Hammer. Bombs are useless here.
Once inside, talk to the submerged Great Fairy after playing Zelda’s Lullaby (Y-X-A-Y-X-A), who will offer the Gift of Doubled Magic for a hefty sum of 200 rupees. Pay up, and your Magic Meter will double, allowing you to shoot more magic arrows and use the Lenses of Truth longer.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
