Square Enix have opened pre-orders for the eagerly anticipated Nintendo Switch port of the high-acclaimed RPG NieR: Automata. The new release, NieR: Automata: The End Of YoRHa Edition will be available in both physical and digital editions, and include existing DLC as well as a few additional outfits.
NieR: Automata, developed by PlatinumGames, is set in a post-apocalyptic world where invading machines and human-created androids battle through the ruins of civilization. The player takes control of combat androids 2B and 9S as they journey to earth from YoRHa’s orbiting base to aid the earthly resistance in pushing back the machine menace.
Gameplay is a fast-paced mix of shooting and swordplay, with the exploration of a large open world, and mech flying sections thrown in for good measure. It also comes with the kind of wild, intricate storyline players have come to expect from a director like Yoko Taro. Players can be expected to have all their expectations upended many times before they are done with the content.
NieR: Automata. The End Of YoRHa Edition will be released for the Nintendo Switch on the 6th of October this year and will be available as a physical edition with new reversible box art, and as a digital edition via the Nintendo eShop.
