Indie developers Mads & Friends partnered with Bedtime Digital Games in order to release a strange yet intricate game experience. Their game, The Forest Quartet, is a puzzle adventure where players incarnate the spirit of a recently deceased lead singer. Travel into the minds of the three remaining quartet members to reignite their musical spark, darkened by their grief.
Players will discover how Kirk the pianist, JB the bassist, and Sebastian the drummer experience emotions differently through depression, anxiety, and rage. As Nina’s spirit, they will use the power of her voice to interact with the psyches of the musicians. Transform into a swarm of butterflies to navigate through dangerous parts of the human subconscious and make the forest green again.
Reigniting the musical spark of the musicians through generators of encouragement will provide small snippets of the Quartet’s past and how they came together. By the end, players will even discover why the musicians decided to move deep into the woods.
The Forest Quartet is set to release on December 8th for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Will you be helping this small band of musicians cope with their grief?
