Praise and rejoice! The fanatical religious simulator Honey I Joined A Cult officially leaves Steam Early Access and gets a full release tomorrow.
The first full title developed by Sole Survivor Games, published by Team17, Honey, I Joined A Cult puts the player in charge of their own dubious faith and the followers it brings. A player can customize their cult's outfits, holy relics, and deities to their liking, then set out trying to convert the population.
Running a slightly scammy extremist sect isn't easy. Devotees need to be housed, fed and kept reasonably happy. New followers must be attracted and encouraged to spend money on questionable new-age therapies. Word of the cult needs to be spread far and wide, though getting too bold might result in a police raid, which is not good for business. Some cultists might even get arrested in the process of holy works.
Keep visitors and the faithful happy and the cult will continue to thrive, whether they worship Santa, Cthulhu or an unexploded atomic bomb. Let things slide, and the end will be nothing but an empty compound.
Honey, I Joined A Cult will release its 1.0 version on November 3rd. The game is available for PC via Steam.
