SLEEP AWAKE is mostly a linear horror experience, but every now and then it throws a puzzle your way to break the tension—and one of the first major ones arrives when you enter your father’s office at the institute. You’ll need to tune three radios to the correct runes to unlock a hidden wall safe. Here’s a clean walkthrough on how to complete the radio puzzle and where to find each rune.

How to complete the radio puzzle in SLEEP AWAKE

Once you reach the institute, head into your father’s old office while searching for a keycard. On his desk are three radios, each with a dial marked with different runes. The trick is simple: find the three runes hidden around the office, then match each radio’s dial to one of them.

Here’s where to locate all three runes:

Rune location #1

Turn around from the radios and look at the small desk behind you. There’s a lamp sitting on top—switch it on. The light will project a rune onto the surface of the desk. This glowing symbol is the first rune you need.

Rune location #2

Across the room, near the opposite wall, you’ll find an item shaped like a bone. When you pick it up, Katja refers to it as a Mechanist Conductor. Inspect the object and rotate it until you spot the engraved rune. That symbol is your second radio match.

Rune location #3

Now look just above where you found the Mechanist Conductor. There’s a poster featuring planets and the phrase, “Look to the heavens for inspiration.” Take the poster’s advice—look straight up. Depending on your position, you’ll notice that the ceiling pipes form the shape of the final rune you’re searching for.

Finishing the Puzzle

With all three runes discovered, return to the radios and tune each dial to one of the symbols. When all three are set correctly, the radios will emit a synchronized sound wave that opens the wall safe.
