Watch out, Square Enix is putting another action role-playing game (RPG) on Playstation and PC! Valkyrie Elysium, the newest installment in the Valkyrie series, follows a young Valkyrie who is entrusted with the fate of the world. Always an easy life being an RPG protagonist, huh?
The trailer gives us a glimpse into the art style and the game’s protagonist. After being sent on her quest by the All-Father, mightiest of the gods and ruler of all creation, she will face many enemies and utilize a number of weapons, spells, and allies to prevent Ragnarök - the end of the world. While the game will feature a fresh combat system based on the classic RPG mechanics, the music will harken back to its roots with the series regular composer Motoi Sakuraba. Developed by Soleil Ltd., Valkyrie Elysium will draw upon Norse mythology to present an original story set in a world about to end, with plenty of danger, mysteries, and of course fast-paced combat.
While not much is known about the game thus far, we can expect to hear more news as we get closer to release. Valkyrie Elysium is scheduled for release in 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
