During today’s State of Play event, Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital filled their slot with a showcase of the story for their upcoming samurai game, Trek to Yomi. We recently got to see some of the gameplay that this game will have players experience, so it is nice to get a look into the story.
As a vow to his dying Master, a young swordsman is sworn to protect his town and the people he loves against all threats. Faced with tragedy and bound to duty, the lone samurai must voyage beyond life and death to confront himself and decide his path forward.
Trek to Yomi is set to release in Spring of 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. This definitely looks like a really interesting swordplay game that I can’t wait to get into. Something about a sidescrolling hack ‘n’ slash can always grab my attention.
