We all know that developer Rockstar’s next big game is Red Dead Redemption 2, which is coming in October, and it seems that publisher Take-Two is extremely confident with the title to the point of calling it as a game that will “redefine” the industry.
In an earnings call yesterday, Take Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be “another creative milestone” for Rockstar. Zelnick even said that the game is aiming to “redefine our industry” and “captivate audiences around the world.”
Of course, given that the game is still in development, Zelnick did not explain how Red Dead Redemption 2 will redefine the gaming industry. However, Take-Two couldn’t resist reiterating their high hopes for the game and said that:
“Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar Games’ first title developed from the ground up for the current console generation. We could not be more excited about the upcoming launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, which is poised to be another massive entertainment.”
While both Take-Two and Rockstar Games are confident with the upcoming title, it is still not projected to outsell Rockstar’s previous game, Grand Theft Auto V, as projected by Cowen & Company's Doug Creutz via MarketWatch. Currently, the title has shipped almost 100 million units, making it one of the most successful video game in the world.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to release on October 26 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Are you excited for the upcoming game? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
