In the latest report by the market research company, the NPD Group, it was revealed that the Nintendo Switch reigned supreme in both hardware and software sales for the entire gaming industry last July.
Overall, the video game industry generated $749 million in revenue last July, which is a fourteen percent increase from the same period in 2017. NPD reported that hardware and accessories were the primary drivers of last month’s profits, with the Switch topping the list.
“Nintendo Switch was July’s best-selling hardware platform in both dollars and units sold,” Mat Piscatella, an analyst from the company reported. “This is the seventh month that Switch has led in hardware dollar sales since launching in March 2017, and the first since December 2017.”
Moreover, several Switch games also performed exceptionally well regarding software sales. You can check out the top ten best-selling video games in July as reported by NPD via Venture Beat.
