The list of finalists is up to vote on for the first-ever the*gameHERs awards series! This awards show recognizes the amazing female talent within the gaming community and industry. It’s the only gaming event that’s been created for women, by women and the fans and finalists are highly anticipating this show taking place on November 19th! The platform was created as a safe place for women to feel comfortable without having sexism obstruct them from doing what made the community better. It doesn’t matter what type of woman you are, the*gameHERs has your back, that includes marginalized genders and non-binary as well.
When the platform called upon the gaming community and fans to submit nominations across their 5 categories built up of 25 wards, they found themselves with over 600 submissions! It’s great to see the gaming community celebrating the women who put so much effort into it to help push it forward. “We are thrilled with the overwhelming, positive response we’ve received from our initial announcement of the awards,” said Laura Deutsch, Co-Founder of the*gameHERs. “We’ve seen tremendous gratitude and excitement from each nominee and nominator, and it reminds us of our purpose and overall mission for creating the*gameHERs awards, which is to provide a platform for women in gaming to connect, network and speak their minds.”
Voting is still open for all and there are over 100 different awards for everyone to vote on! All of which celebrate the women in gaming who are content creators, industry changers, leaders, eSports athletes, and more! The voting will remain open until November 13th so head over to the*gameHERs website to cast your votes right now! The ceremony will be live-streamed on Thursday, November 19th via the*gameHERs Twitch channel. As a male with a huge amount of strong female women in his life, I’m proud to see this part of the gaming community making their voices heard and showing up for each other!
