Where to find Surveyors in Arc Raiders
The key to finding Surveyor Vaults is to find and defeat Surveyors, a peaceful ARC enemy that spawns once per match in every Arc Raiders map. You have likely encountered one of these machines in the wild: they are metal spheres that lurk around without a proclivity to violence.
Surveyors, however, are small, and as mentioned above, only one will spawn per match. With giant maps such as the Blue Gate, pinpointing their location is almost impossible… except for one detail: they shoot a giant blue beam in the air, visible from across the map. Therefore, your best choice for encountering Surveyors is choosing a vantage point, waiting for the blue beam, and then walking in that general direction.
How to defeat the Surveyors in Arc Raiders
If you are successful, and other raiders failed to beat you to it, you will encounter the Surveyor. Your best shot at defeating these machines is to keep your distance and wait for them to shoot the blue beam at the sky. They will expose their insides, which are not protected by their metal exterior, leaving them highly vulnerable.
Use heavy weaponry and explosives to target the Surveyors. Once they take damage, prepare to dodge: if they aren’t killed in one swift attack, they will roll directly at you and run away. Continue inflicting heavy damage, and the Surveyor will eventually explode. Scavenge the remains, and you will find Surveyor Vaults inside.
Looting Arc Couriers to find Surveyor Vaults
If you are not feeling particularly fond of looking for these ARCs, you can alternatively loot Arc Couriers. These are fallen machines that you will find scattered across the map. Be on the lookout for black smoke, as it will mark the spot that these machines chose as their final resting place.
The chances of getting Surveyor Vaults by breaching Arc Couriers are low, so be prepared for quite a long scavenging session if you are not willing to fight the Surveyors.
