For anyone who has played through Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, you know how hard the impossible lair actually is. It is a series of difficult challenges that players can choose to tackle right from the start of the game. Doing it this way means you have to have a completely perfect playthrough to make it to the end which sounds impossible. Instead, the game has you go through levels to rescue bees that will then act as a shield for you inside the lair. Even with these added hits, the lair is still downright tough.
Next week on April 16, Platonic is adjusting the fundamental ways the impossible lair will work. with a new Not So Impossible Lair update. This new update will add in checkpoints to the impossible lair that players will be able to start from once they have reached them at least once. Each checkpoint will record the number of bee shields you have upon reaching them. When selecting a checkpoint you will start out from that spot with the same amount of bee shields. want to have more bee shields, replay the previous section to try and improve your run.
This new system is sure to help players who weren’t able to beat the original game finally tackle the final area. For players who don’t want to utilize the new system, the original mode will still be available as Uber Mode. The Not So Impossible Lair update will be released as part of a free title update coming to all platforms next week.
