When you’re not completing main quest objectives, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave gives you loads of free time to spend on various activities. You also have the option to skip free time entirely, which can make it even more difficult to know if you’re spending that time wisely. We’ll give you some ideas on how you can spend your free time in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave so you don’t waste a single turn.
Dine at the inn
While in Dagsion, a great way to spend your free time is to have meals with your allies at an inn. It doesn’t actually cost a turn, and you can invite three characters to share a meal together. Make sure to pick the right food as well, since each character has a preference for meals.
The more they enjoy the meal, the more support levels will rise between the three characters. You don’t even have to choose the protagonist of your route, it can be any three of the allies you’ve bonded with. That’s not the only thing you can do at inns either. You can spend turns renting a room to restore HP and magic, as well as perform auto-activities, which is essentially a form of training.
Complete world map side quests
You’re not just stuck in Dagsion the entire time. You can head out into the open world and complete some of those side quests you pick up around town. Each protagonist has something unique they can do on the world map, such as Leda’s ability to perform at taverns or Cai’s ability to catch and care for wild animals.
Otherwise, some NPCs will ask simple requests that have you exploring certain parts of the map for a few rewards. This will incentivize you to explore certain areas, which may lead you to discover unique parts of the map. Just make sure you have enough time to return to Dagsion if there’s something special happening on the calendar!
Recruit new allies
All across Dagsion, you can find a myriad of allies to recruit to your band of misfits. The only problem is they aren’t easy to recruit right off the bat. Check each character’s recruitment requirements to find out what levels of Support and Renown they need before you can ask them to join you.
Raise their Support levels by inviting them to meals and giving them gifts they like, depending on their interests. Renown is something you earn as you complete quests and other activities around the world. Eventually, you’ll have all the requirements for recruiting that character, and they can join you in future battles.
Explore dungeons
While unlocking new areas of the world map, you will likely come across Dungeons. These are side activities that allow you to earn materials, open chests, and fight enemies. These combat encounters are different and are entirely turn-based.
The great thing about these combat encounters is that you can perform Link Attacks, which help raise support levels between party members. Since you fight multiple enemies in one dungeon, it’s an easy way to unlock new support cutscenes between characters.
Temple service & arena training
There are two more important activities you can do in Dagsion during free time, which is performing temple service or training at the arena. When visiting a temple, you can choose two characters to perform service, which increases support points between them, as well as the tribute level for that temple’s god.
Otherwise, head to the arena to train your units in battle. Pick 2-3 allies to train, then choose the type of training you want them to receive based on different skills and weapons. Arena training is only available once per week, so make sure to use it as often as you can!
