Activision has now officially announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which was previously called Call of Duty 2018, will be the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise.
The upcoming game will be released worldwide for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 12 this year. However, players who are interested to discover what to expect on Black Ops 4 will be happy to know that Activision is planning to host a community event on May 17.
Since details regarding the game’s campaign, multiplayer modes, and other relevant information, were not part of the initial announcement, it is expected that Activision will share everything there is to know about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 during the community event.
Yesterday, NBA star James Harden was spotted wearing a hat showing the actual Black Ops 4 logo, that had fans of the game speculating its release. Looking at it now, it is possible that Activision announced the release of Black Ops 4 earlier than they planned, since rumors about the upcoming game have been rampant during the last few weeks, that it probably reached a breaking point and forced the company to just announce the game to quell the rumors.
