A new PEGI rating that leaked on to the official site last night suggests that the popular shooter Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is getting a remaster. According to the leak, only the campaign will be getting the remaster treatment. As far as release platforms go only the PS4 has been specifically mentioned so far. Oddly enough the mentioned release date was yesterday February 28 so there are many details still yet to be determined.

Modern Warfare 2 has been requested for the remaster treatment off and on for the last few years. 2019 also marks the games 10th anniversary so chances are high that we could be seeing the title this year. It would also make sense considering this is the Infinity Ward release year for Call of Duty. The last Infinity ward Call of Duty game, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, also brought with it the remaster of the original Modern Warfare. Further rumors have also suggested that this years Call of Duty game could be Modern Warfare 4.

Whatever the case may be the evidence is solid that we will be seeing a Modern Warfare 2 Remaster sometime soon. A game receiving an official age rating doesn’t just happen on a whim. Like all rumors though, take this with a grain of salt until an official confirmation can be given. Also if you need more Modern Warfare in your life don’t forget that the March PS plus line-up does include Modern Warfare Remaster!
