With so much to do and see in the waters of the newly released Crimson Desert title, fishing is one of the more difficult activities to start and especially master. Luckily, right off the bat, you can start fishing immediately in the starting area of the game.
To catch your first fish, follow these simple steps:
Pick up the fishing pole on the cart to the left of the initial starting area near the pond or buy a pole from any general vendor in Hernand town
Equip the fishing pole from your weapons/gear screen (default is F2) and select the pole
Cast the pole into any stream, river or lake. If it’s a bad cast, you’ll get a warning
As soon as you get a bite, hit the Hook option and BEFORE you start reeling in, move your controls AWAY from where the fish is swimming
Do not reel in until the fish stops fighting. You may have to repeat this several times before you can finally reel the fish in. Patience is key!
Pro tip: If you can see fish in shallow water, feel free to run at it and catch with your bare hands
