EXCLUSIVE: Riftbound: Unleashed Card Reveal

As Riftbound continues to grow and evolve, one thing has remained consistent: the community. The player base keeps growing, and the passion surrounding this game continues to stand out. Here at GameTyrant, we’re grateful to be part of that community, and today we’re excited to do our part with an exclusive reveal from the next major set, Riftbound: Unleashed.

With each new reveal, it’s becoming a little clearer that Unleashed may be bringing some clever new tools to the table, and Forgotten Signpost feels like a great example of that direction.

New Riftbound: Unleashed Card Reveal

The card we’re revealing today is Forgotten Signpost, an uncommon Gear with a very interesting action-speed ability:

“Exhaust a unit you control, Exhaust: Move a different unit you control to the location of the unit you exhausted to pay for this ability.”

Check out the full card below.

This is the kind of design that immediately stands out because it suggests Riftbound: Unleashed could be a more combat trick-heavy set. Forgotten Signpost is not just a simple utility card. It’s the sort of effect that rewards planning, positioning, and smart timing, which makes it feel especially appealing for players who like to stay reactive and control the pace of combat.

How to Use Forgotten Signpost

What makes Forgotten Signpost so exciting is how flexible it feels. There are really two clear ways to use it effectively: offensively and defensively.

On the offensive side, this card can function as a bait-and-switch tool thanks to its action-speed timing. If you control both Battlefields, or even have a unit in your base, Forgotten Signpost gives you a way to reposition another unit when a Battlefield becomes contested. That can create some sneaky attack patterns and allow you to pressure your opponent in ways they may not be expecting. It gives combat trick decks another way to force awkward situations and turn contested fights into favorable ones.

Defensively, Forgotten Signpost can also help keep an important unit alive. If you know a showdown is not going your way and you don’t want to lose one of your better units in the exchange, this gives you the ability to pull that unit out and preserve your board state. In a game where timing and positioning can decide everything, that kind of flexibility can be incredibly valuable.

First Impressions of Forgotten Signpost

My first impression is that Forgotten Signpost could end up being a very meaningful role-player. Green (Calm) is already a strong color in Riftbound, and this card looks like it is only going to add even more depth to combat trick-heavy builds. It may not be the flashiest reveal on paper, but this feels like one of those cards that could become a real headache once players start using it well.

More specifically, I can see Forgotten Signpost being a huge addition to Master Yi decks. A card like this fits perfectly into strategies that want to fight on their own terms, stay one step ahead of the opponent, and make combat math even more frustrating. It feels like exactly the sort of utility piece that can quietly overperform in the right shell.

Where Forgotten Signpost Fits

Forgotten Signpost feels tailor-made for combat trick-heavy decks and strategies that want to fight on their own timing. Rather than just committing to straightforward aggression, this card gives reactive and positioning-focused decks another way to stay slippery, manipulate engagements, and punish opponents who assume the battlefield is settled. That alone makes it one of the more interesting utility cards we’ve seen so far from Unleashed.

Overall, Forgotten Signpost looks like a deceptively strong reveal. It may not come in with the same immediate splash as a big finisher or flashy champion, but the more you think about it, the more it feels like a card smart players are going to find a lot of value in. If this is the kind of design philosophy Riftbound: Unleashed is leaning into, this set may have a lot of exciting tricks in store.
